• 1Taxation

I am a strong supporter of cutting taxes. The skyrocketing property tax, income tax and fuel tax in our state is unacceptable. It is wrong for our state to tout success in Indiana economic development, while simultaneously increasing taxes on Hoosiers, living with stagnant wages. I believe Americans have the God-given right to pursue happiness and no Government has the right to assess the value of that happiness. We should all pay fairly for the services we use. Taxation in our state is unfair and out of control.
  • 2Foreign influence in Indiana

We can and we MUST stop China from purchasing our farmland, setting up shop and destroying manufacturing wages by pumping cheap foreign product into Indiana. We cannot wait for the federal government to act. We have an obligation to protect this nation at a local level. We can take serious action in Indiana, right now.
  • 3Second Amendment

“Shall not be infringed” One of the most embarrassing failures of leadership in the Indiana Senate was the egregious attack on our 2nd Amendment with the delay and attempt to kill Permit-less Carry (Constitutional Carry). I will NEVER question or delay support for the God-given right to defend ourselves and our families.
  • 4Education

I am a fierce supporter of parental rights. Our children are not wards of the state on loan to parents. It is parents who decide how and where their children will be educated, not government. I believe we can increase the number of great teachers in Indiana by rewarding our current teachers more fairly for their efforts and by implementing more fair competition within the industry. I believe teachers on the ground should play an important role in redesigning the methods by which taxpayers study performance. I am a strong supporter of proven science-based learning methods. We have the knowledge and ability to customize education for children with learning disabilities, and we should. We can lower the cost of education by cutting waste and properly allocating funds.
  • 5Defender of Life

There is nothing more American than defending the Life of helpless children. I will always stand with God and his desire for us to defend Life from conception.
  • 6Illegal immigration / Legal immigration

Indiana does not need to wait for the federal government to solve its border crisis. We have borders in Indiana and we have the ability to defend them. With bold and simple legislation, we can drastically reduce illegal immigration as well as the poisonous drugs and human trafficking that goes along with it. People in Indiana who knowingly house and hire those who have violated our federal immigration laws should do so with fear of felony charges and swift prosecution. Hard-working Hoosiers should not be forced to compete with wage-killing illegal labor and a lower standard of living. I would join the effort in our General Assembly to pass bold legislation that would shut down illegal immigration in Indiana. With fairness to our current citizens in mind, Indiana should strongly encourage the federal government to support more reasonable pathways to citizenship for those who honor our immigration laws and enter our country legally. It is unfair to lure talented people from around the world to the U.S. with false hopes of citizenship. We can do better for foreign friends who have shown love and respect for our beautiful nation and want nothing more than to join our American family.
  • 7Public Safety

Indiana is currently in the middle of a public safety crisis. Recruitment for is down with crime on the rise. Police and fire departments are struggling to meet the demands of irresponsible growth. We must consider the readiness of public safety when moving forward with plans for growth. Much of this problem can be solved with more transparency and reasonable boundaries in economic development. We can resolve the issue with recruitment by making certain our plans for economic growth include competitive pay and training for our first responders. Showing respect for people facing the dangers and challenges of keeping our families safe should always be of upmost importance. This means considering the new challenges they face in our modern world and rewarding them fairly for taking them on.
  • 8Balancing Economic Growth

The Hart’s are a small business family. We understand that small business is the heartbeat of our state. We are familiar with the day-to-day hardships and hurdles of Indiana business owners, many of which are created by poor legislation at the state level. True and honest economic growth is necessary for our state to enjoy success. I believe the first paragraph in the discussion of our state economy begins with small business. For a good number of years, the focus of our state has been economic development. Unfortunately, that honest effort has given birth to a string of endless bureaucracies which suffer from lack of transparency and few boundaries. Along with the out-of-control growth of government relating to economic development, we are seeing the growth of poorly designed one-sided legislation which serves out-of-state and globalist corporations, while leaving behind a path of destruction and massive financial clean up for our small businesses. While many developers, financial institutions and politicians, are served well by the current effort made in the name of economic development, The majority of Hoosiers are finding no meaningful benefit in mortgaging our state. Taxation continues to increase in every column while wages are stagnant. Indiana cannot sustain our current approach to economic development. We must implement transparency, streamline our efforts with the deconstruction of bureaucracies and establish safeguards which protect small businesses from the ripple effect of incentives for big business.
  • 9Honoring our U.S. Constitution

Other than Salvation, the greatest gift God has given Americans is the United States Constitution. No other document in history has offered a greater security to the freedoms granted by Him. It is the single thing which makes our beautiful nation exceptional to all others. I will fiercely defend it.
